How It Works
Cryptgeon generates a unique id (256-bit) and key (256-bit) for each note.
The id is used for saving and retrieving the secret message. Subsequently, this message is encrypted by the client using AES in GCM mode with the key before being sent to the server. Data is stored exclusively in the server's memory and is never persisted to the hard disk. The server never obtains the encryption key and therefore cannot decipher the message content.
Quick Start
After installing the app, open the main interface.
For example:
Input: Your new account password is: abc123
Set view count: 1 time (destroys after viewing)
Set expiration time: 60 minutes
Click "Create" and send the link to a colleague
This way, even if the chat history is seen by others, the link will already be invalid.
A link and QR code are generated.
Scan it directly with WeChat.
Click to view the secret message.
Since I set the view count to 1, if I refresh the page, it prompts that the secret message no longer exists.
It can also be used to share private photos. For instance, if a friend asks for some photos, but you don't want them permanently saved in the chat history:
- Select "File", upload photos (multiple files supported)
- Set view count: 3 times
- Set expiration time: 24 hours
- Send the link
After scanning the QR code, click on the image to view it.
After your friend views them, the photos disappear completely, eliminating worries about them being forwarded or spread.
