Grocy: An Inventory Management System Designed for Home Use

What is Grocy?

In simple terms, Grocy is an inventory management system designed specifically for households. You can think of it as an "enterprise inventory management system for home use," but it's much simpler to operate than enterprise software. It helps you:

• Track the stock of all items at home
• Alert you when items are nearing expiration
• Automatically generate shopping lists
• Record household expenses

Quick Start Guide

After installing the application, open the login page. The default credentials are admin/admin.

Click the settings icon in the upper right corner, then select User settings.

Select Chinese.

After clicking OK, the page will refresh and display in Chinese.

Add a shopping list.

Add products to the shopping list.

If the product doesn't exist, it will redirect to the new product page.

Fill in the basic information: Name, Category, Unit, etc. Set inventory parameters: Minimum stock, Default shelf life, etc. Upload a product image (optional).

It's recommended to start by adding 10-20 commonly used products to familiarize yourself with the process before expanding.

Based on products, you can create recipes.

Besides operating within Grocy, it can also function as a server. View the API here:

Add an API key.

Clicking on the key on the left will display a QR code, convenient for scanning.

I use an iPhone. Search directly in the App Store for: grocy mobile

After installation is complete, select Private Server.

Entering the details here can be cumbersome. Just click "QR-Scan" to scan the QR code from the previous step.

It will be recognized automatically. Note that the domain is Lazycat's, so it needs to be forwarded/accessible.

After successful configuration, you can start using it on your phone.

You can conveniently test the API endpoints.
