Fogsight Practical Guide: Transforming Abstract Concepts into Animated Masterpieces in Seconds
Still struggling with creating course materials? Finding it hard to explain complex concepts in an engaging way?
Let me recommend an incredibly useful open-source tool today — Fogsight.
Simply put, it's a magic tool that turns "concepts into animations".
You just need to input a word or phrase, like "Bubble Sort" or "Law of Entropy Increase", and it will generate a complete teaching animation for you.

Getting Started Guide
After installing the app, you need to configure the API key and model first.

Taking Gemini as an example, you need to apply on the Google AI Studio website (https://aistudio.google.com/) Click "Get API Key"

Generate the key.

For the Gemini model, the official API URL provided by Google is fixed. You should enter:
https://generativelanguage.googleapis.com
The latest Gemini model is gemini-2.5-pro, which performs excellently in reasoning and programming.

However, after configuration, it kept failing to start. (This has been reported to the developers).

I tried switching to the Tongyi Qianwen API instead. Get the API key here: https://bailian.console.aliyun.com/?tab=model#/api-key

Base URL: https://dashscope.aliyuncs.com/compatible-mode/v1
Model name, e.g., qwen-plus

After configuration and restarting the app, it finally reached the home page.

Based on testing, these types of inputs work particularly well:
✅ Recommended Inputs
- Academic Concepts: Bubble Sort, Quantum Entanglement, DNA Replication
- Theorems & Laws: Newton's First Law, Pythagorean Theorem, Law of Entropy Increase
- Phenomena & Principles: Light Refraction, Acid-Base Neutralization, Cell Division
❌ Not Suitable For
- Overly broad topics: Love, Philosophy of Life
- Highly subjective content: Which celebrity is the most handsome
- Time-sensitive topics: Today's news
You can see it generated a dynamic presentation.

It can be saved as HTML code. The video export feature is not available yet, prompting that it's under development.

You can chat with the AI to adjust the animation.
For example:
- "This animation is too fast, can you slow it down?"
- "Can you change the background to blue?"
- "Can the narration be simpler?"
- "Can you add an example to help understanding?"
After each interaction, the AI will regenerate a version that meets your requirements. For example, I input:

It promptly modified the code, resulting in this final effect:

🎯 Practical Application Scenarios
For Educators
- Courseware Creation: Turn abstract concepts into animations for faster student comprehension.
- Online Courses: Insert these animations when recording lessons for an immediate quality boost.
- Homework Explanations: Animate problem-solving processes so students understand at a glance.
For Content Creators
- Science Videos: Quickly generate professional animated素材 for科普 videos.
- Tutorial Creation: Visualize complex processes.
- Social Media: Create eye-catching short knowledge videos.
Customizing Styles
You can specify the animation style through dialogue:
- "Make it sci-fi style"
- "Use a simple sketch style"
- "Reference the TED-Ed animation style"

🌟 Summary
The greatest value of Fogsight is that it simplifies the task of "explaining concepts". What used to take hours or even days to create a teaching animation can now be done in minutes.
Although it has some limitations (such as dependency on network and APIs), it is sufficient for most teaching and science communication scenarios.
It's especially suitable for:
- 🎓 Teachers of various subjects (particularly effective for STEM)
- 📹 Educational content creators
- 💼 Corporate trainers
- 🔬 Science communicators
If you frequently need to explain complex concepts, I highly recommend trying this tool. Open-source, free, professional results, simple operation – such good tools are rare.
