TubeSync is a PVR (personal video recorder) for YouTube. Alternatively, let's say it's YouTube's Sonarr (with a built-in download client). It is designed to sync YouTube's channels and playlists to a local directory and update your media server after media is downloaded. The downloaded video is in the TubeSync directory of the user manuscript directory. If you want to watch YouTube videos of a specific quality or setting through your local media server, TubeSync is for you. Internally, TubeSync is a web-based yt-dlp and ffmpeg wrapper with a task scheduler. There are several other web interfaces for YouTube and yt-dlp with different functions and implementations. The biggest difference between TubeSync is that it provides a complete PVR experience, can update media servers and better select media formats. In addition, in order to be as action-free as possible, TubeSync has a function to gradually retry failures and comes with a backoff timer, so media that fails to download will be retried for a long time, making it very reliable.
