Lazy cat OIDC login has been integrated. LastSignal is a self-hosted "digital will/death switch" app. You can write encrypted messages in advance and specify recipients; the system will regularly ask you to complete check-in. If you continue to miss reminders, LastSignal will automatically send a delivery link to the recipient. It is suitable for storing instructions, account clues, farewell letters, emergency arrangements, etc. that need to be given to family, friends or trusted contacts under special circumstances. LastSignal is not a will in the legal sense, nor can it replace formal legal documents such as wills, notarization, trusts, and powers of attorney. ##Core working methods 1. You sign in to LastSignal. 2. Configure the mail delivery service. 3. Add recipients. 4. Recipients set their own decryption password through the invitation email. 5. You create an encrypted message and select the recipient. 6. The system reminds you periodically to check-in. 7. If you confirm on time, the timer will reset and the message will not be delivered. 8. If you miss reminders in succession, the system will send a delivery link to the recipient. The message content is encrypted and saved in the browser, and the server saves encrypted data. Recipients need to use their own password to decrypt and read. ### 2. Configure email settings Go to Mail Settings in the top navigation to configure SMTP. LastSignal's login links, recipient invitations, check-in reminders, and final delivery all rely on emails, and you must first confirm that the emails can be sent. Gmail example configuration: - Host: `smtp.gmail.com` - Port: `587` - Username: Your Gmail address - Password: Gmail application-specific password, not web login password - SMTP domain: `gmail.com` - From email: Recommended to fill in the same Gmail address - From name: `LastSignal` If you use port 465, your application needs to support implicit SSL; port 587 is currently recommended. ### 3. add recipients Enter `Recipients`, click Add Recipient, and fill in the other party's mailbox and name. The system will send an invitation email. After receiving the email, the recipient needs to open the invitation link and set up the password. This password is only used in the recipient's browser and will not be sent to the server. The recipient must remember it or the message will not be able to be decrypted in the future. ### 4. Create encrypted message Go to Messages, create a new message, fill in the title and content, and select the recipient whose key setting has been completed. After creation, what you see on the page is the encrypted message information. It is normal that apps will not directly display plaintext content. ### 5. Understand delivery time LastSignal is not a tool to send messages immediately. After the message is created, it is only saved as content to be delivered. Default process: - Check-in needs to be completed every 30 days. - If a check-in is missed, the system will send a reminder. - By default, a total of 3 reminders will be issued. - Each reminder is separated by 7 days. - Only when it has not been confirmed will it be delivered to the recipient.
