PersonalLedgr is a self-managed personal financial management application with the core philosophy: ** The flow of funds between own accounts is always a transfer, not income or expenditure **. ### 1. registered account After opening the app for the first time: 1. Click the **Register** link at the bottom of the login page. 2. Fill in your name, email and password, and click **Create account**. 3. After successful registration, you will automatically log in and enter the dashboard. ### 2. create an account Go to the **Accounts** page in the sidebar and click **Add Account** to support the following types: | type | description | | --------------- | ------------------------------------ | | **Checking** | Daily expense account (current) | | **Savings** | Savings account (interest rate can be set) | | **Credit Card** |Credit card (supports interest tracking and APR rate management)| | **Loan** | Loans (car loans, personal loans, etc.) | | **Mortgage** | Mortgage (automatically generated amortization schedule) | Fill in the account name, current balance and other information and save it. Loan and mortgage accounts require additional input of principal, interest rate, term and start date, and the system will automatically generate a repayment plan. ### 3. Add a transaction Add revenue and expenditure records on the **Transactions** page: - ** Income category **: Income, interest_earned - ** Expenditure category **: Daily consumption (expense), loan interest (loan_interest) - ** Transfer type **: Transfer between own accounts, loan principal repayment (loan_principal) >Transfers and loan principal repayments will not be included in income/expenditure statistics, and the dashboard will automatically distinguish them.
